Just saw Candye last friday in the OC. we spoke of this imminent anniversary as well as her loss of Dineen which was days before and sudden. The juxtaposition of D, freshly paroled w/ almost no one and Heather w/ all of us made us hope they were together somewhere. H cd've tamed D's badboibutch w/ one pointed look.

I'm about to embark on a new life that's driven completely by my heart's desire, Romeo and I are moving to the desert in March to become a family with my intended Andrea, her 2 teens and Snick the dog n Fred the cat. Heather would've championed me and approved of my choice, I'm sure.

She'll always be in my heart and on my shoulder-- laughing, taunting, proclaiming and cajoling me to edgier, truer selfhood. I vow here and now to always listen and let her.
